Truths about you

truths about you
see it!
Who knows you better than you know yourself? After all we are who we are right? We make and break ourselves. We create our own opportunities. We pass and we fail and it’s all in our own hands isn’t it? Well to a very large extent your individuality is discrete and hence unique to you. You know your strengths more than anyone else does. And you have your limitations, which the world may be completely oblivious to because you never expressed them so no one knew. You are your best friend and worst critic. Yet there are few things about you, that maybe you sometimes misapprehend. Things you must know. The truths about yourself…
You are free
The umbilical cord was a bond that shackled you to your progenitor (for your own advantage), but that too was cut once you came into this world. There is no other chain that you are ever twined into. You have a free will. The United Nations itself stands for freedoms, which were incorporated in the Declaration of Human Rights in 1941. They granted every individual the freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom to worship, freedom from fear and freedom of want. And some of us still don't realize how free we are to choose our own path fearlessly. Of course freedom brings in rights, which in turn bring out responsibilities and duties. But duties don't take away your freedom. The child who thinks he is not free to play fails to realize he has full freedom to do so after completing the homework. You are free to have extra marital affairs if you choose to but you do have duties and responsibilities towards your spouse that definitely refrain you from doing so. Don't ever forget that you are always free: to make a difference, to prove your worth, to stand for righteousness and for the good of the world. Know that you are free and make your right choices.
You have it in you
The human potential to excel is limitless. The brain has millions of neuronal connections that often remain untouched throughout one’s lifetime. What a waste of conceivable talent. Boredom, tiredness, weariness, exhaustion; are all excuses. Besides of course the usual 6 to 8 hours of rest that the body needs each day, the human brain is capable of driving the body to extremes and still surviving and replenishing its prowess. If you make up your mind, there’s little that can demotivate you from your goals. Of course life is not a bed of roses and obstacles are inevitable. But the human mind is capable of brainstorming and reappraising situations and opportunities to use them to personal advantage. You have it in you; you just sometimes don't realize it, hence fail to utilize it.
You are lucky
You are as lucky as everyone else you who succeeded in what they set out to do. Even those who outran you were just about as lucky as you. Luck is defined as a chance of fortune that essentially is ‘not’ in your own hands. And luck is always retrospective. You decide how lucky or unlucky you ‘were’ on the basis of the outcome of your action. Science has repeatedly proven that success is determined by factors like conscientiousness, hard work, steadfastness, focus and commitment (to name a few). Luck has usually never been the predictor of outcomes. Still, in its self-fulfilling prophetic standpoint, luck exists because you believe in it. Just like you believe in God. If you do, you believe He’s by your side. If "good" and "bad" events occur at random to everyone, then the believers in good luck will see a net gain in their fortunes, and vice versa for believers in bad luck. Thus, a belief in good luck may actually be an adaptive strategy. If you don't believe, you just don't. Use your freedom to believe or not believe in luck and work it to your advantage.
You are in control
You are the controller for events in your life, and you can choose to escape from personal responsibility too but you are always in control. If you ascribe misfortunes to loss of control, you probably have been too risky with your own actions. You could believe any of these:
  • I was in control (you drove the car and you had that accident)
  • I voluntarily gave up control (my wife is in control of me now)
  • Someone was controlling me (my boss just always has his way)
  • Everything was out of control (I don't know how I lost my job)
People who believe they are in control are more optimistic, more satisfied with their lives, and have better moods. They really are able to sort things because they believe they are truly in control of themselves. If you can sort your mind and your reactions, you can practically regulate anything on this planet.

Bitter truth?
Just like a medicine that does good, truth always leads to better consequences. It is TRUE. You just need to believe and act on it…
