Traditionalism...why?

free yourself
One of the numerous challenges that faced man during evolution was the ability to curb his pleasure principle. It is what was meant to differentiate him from animals. That knack; to curtail what he truly feels, alter what he thinks and modify behavior to match the socially accepted norm. But then, man himself created society and its norms. No one knows whether the chicken came first or the egg; however it is well ascertained that humans gradually clogged their emotions, curbed their desires and altered their true personas to please one another, equal the medians, and become someone who was deemed ‘right’ by the rest.
Conformity
Traditionalism is only too convenient. It allows for order, prevents conflict, helps society run smoothly, and eliminates conventionally unaccepted behaviors. Conformity is good when applied towards the right outcome; it can be disastrous when one turns part of a cult with offbeat ideas and agonizing terrorist aftermaths. Conformism engenders discipline although it indeed can veto originality and self -concept. It is quintessential to use logic and reason with a logical and reasonable intent.
Blind faith
Faith is the sturdiest instigator to action. It adds zest and fervor to achievement. However conviction without judgment is a fallacy privileged to the ignorant. The will to follow a leader ought to come from sound assessment of leadership; failure of which assures shutdown of the brain with loss of mindfulness. One loses track of the path to enrichment simply by failing to memorize the directions. Chances of reaching the goal blindfolded are pretty grim.
The chains
Unknowingly as well as knowledgeably, people follow the herd. It once again adds structure and makes life smoother; however on an elemental level, each one needs to become more aware of actions before performing them. It’s nice to be disciplined in school, orderly on the highway and methodical in church; after accepting that it’s the right way to be; to do the right thing willfully. To be right, to be just and to be good; because we want to be it.
Rebellion
The imitating mind sporadically demands change and may break free with a vengeance. These minds may not be aware of the difference between appropriate and unacceptable behavior. Disobedience, naughtiness, non-compliance stem from forced orthodoxy without explanation. Parents, teachers, working organizations, government, political systems; all need to have the knack to build responsibility without enforcing it. The seeds ought to be sown right so the product grows right.
Free your mind
A sound mind makes reasonable and rational decisions; those that enhance self-worth, utilize the grey matter in the brain and allow some benefit of oneself for oneself by oneself. A free mind lives a democracy. It may drift in the wrong direction too; however freedom clubbed with appropriate responsibility is the path of the efficacious intellect. A coveted goal…
