Is it all OK? Maybe not?

perfect world
The perfect world
We await that picture-perfect moment for doing things we always knew we need to do but assumed it wasn’t the right time. The perfect moment to propose to your loved one, the absolute instant for the big business move, the important investment or essential partnership, what more, the right time for a healthy diet, exercise pattern and sleep hygiene; all need apposite scheduling for them to run smooth. Specific patterns to be followed and unambiguous arrays to be maintained; perfection is a commendable dream and each of us desires that impeccable world where everything works without a glitch.

Quantifying irrationality

Life isn’t perfect. Things don't go the way they were ‘supposed’ to or ‘destined’ to or the way you ‘expected’ or ‘wanted’ them to. Not even the way they ‘should’ have been. Life is full of expectations and desires and wants that occasionally stay unfulfilled and unconsummated. And truly, it’s not unjust to want to relish the pleasures this world has to offer us. After all we work so hard for them. Everyone works and toils for peace and joy. Asceticism or self-denial is not the route to nirvana. But rationality is a must. Living within rational limits of expectations allows one to have them fulfilled more frequently. And that fetches contentment without doubt.

Imperfect Perfectionism

perfectly perfect
Yes that’s just perfect. The food tastes perfect, the presentation seems perfect, the outfit looks perfect, I took my medicines and now I feel perfect. So much that we find perfect in this world and a lot more that we find inadequate; that gives us reason to nitpick. There is very little in this sphere that is flawless and impeccable. Seeing the good in others is desirable and it helps us build better relationships. It offers less dissatisfaction and more contentment. But more often than not, it’s not the negative outlook of others that troubles. It’s the over analytical outlook towards your own self. The desire fro perfectionism that is ‘ideal’ but not ‘attainable’.
