Don't be a fool......

Wisdom
No one is born astute. Wisdom isn’t effectively a subject taught in school, cataloged as a specialty in a college or a mandate category in a job interview. Yet the world desires, respects and salutes wisdom. The complexity of intelligence and ways to build it has been the focus of research and study worldwide. At a rudimentary level, foolishness is simply an inability to make careful choices. Lack of intelligence is in fact described as stupidity. One may be intelligent and yet act foolish at times owing to momentary deficits in reasoning (this is rather common.) The wise man is not one who knows it all; rather he is one who accepts that he doesn't!

Self Control (3)

Brain wiring
Resistance to impulse fulfillment can be attributed to specific areas of the human brain with alteration in neurochemical levels that promote (or when appropriate, protect from) rash decision-making. Broadly, the processing of thought and its systematization into rational evaluations is a knack known to few. Most act on gratifying impulses, failing to exercise any restraint on their needs and urges. It’s fun at times to make sudden plans and act on instinct in emotional situations if the outcomes are favorable. However normalcy is defined by the ability to be either impulsive or controlled depending on which is the most adaptive. Wise choices begin with an awareness of their existence.

Love thyself even more

innocent love like that of a child
innocent love like that of a child
Reverence and adoration
Love has many faces: care, admiration, idolization and internalization to name a few. Love adds delight to your vocabulary and enchantment to your existence. When you love someone or something, you accept them for who they are and adore their existence. You look at them as special and treat them unique too. If at times you don't, you may desire your loved one to change; else you alter your perception of them. The net result is warmth and comfort in the presence of the loved object. And what when that loved object is you? How much do you even know yourself to value and like in yourself? And then, is there enough within you to merit adulation?

Will it happen? Yes only if YOU will it

The depth of human abilities are yet to be fathomed. Einstein used 6% of his brain and yet was regarded the most intelligent man till today. Some of us barely put to use a fraction of that and yet feel overwhelmed, overworked, tired  and burdened. Awareness of your own potential allows you to prepare for its appropriate use. What a waste of human talent in this world today; few know what they are capable of, a handful have an idea but are far from converting it to reality, while the rest are oblivious to self growth, innate potential and instinctive learning . Fear of failure has become a ready justification for inertia. There is never surety of success in spite of the penultimate effort. But refusal to try assures failure. That's more than definitive.

Do you like upset kids?

no one's upset
Bet you don't! And your children don't like it when you're upset with them either. They just like you in the good old normal way. They love it when things are happy and peaceful. It feels good, even for you right? So if they're talking back and being defiant, you must know and understand that if they had a better way to deal with the situation, they'd grab it. Your children don't want to be on bad terms with you. They know it best that they get what they want from you when you are happy with them. They really try hard to please you but often you don’t even realize they do so…

Being original

What if everyone in the world was exactly alike? What if everyone talked the same, acted the same, looked the same, listened to the same music and watched the same TV programs? The world would be extremely dull with no excitement, no discussions, no viewpoints expressed and nothing new learnt! The beauty of the rainbow comes from its contrasting colors. Differences add spice to life and offer meaning to existence...
Thank God for differences!

Is my partner right for me?

Was this the right choice?
Easy to ask others but pretty hard to get the answer from your own self when your relationship seems to be 'under the weather'. We make choices in life all the time: about so many things. Homes, schools, colleges, jobs, clothes, shoes, a fridge, curtains or a sofa; or even a toothbrush! There are always options and we choose what we feel is the best. Needless to say, in material issues there is always scope for trial and error and we can change most decisions in our life without much of a cost (which is anyways usually financial). But the hitch comes in when we invest emotions, time and commitment; not in a commodity, but in a person...

After you say 'I do'

The focus in marriage today largely is rightly shifting towards what happens ‘Before you say I do’ so that marriages become happily ever after concepts. Truly, no one enters a marriage thinking that it won’t last; no one dreams along knowing that the dream is only going to be shattered. Yet, divorce, a strong word, with religious, legal, emotional, familial and financial implications has become a frequent utterance and a reality for a growing number of couples today.
